As our Junior Accountant, you'll keep our financial data accurate, organized, and audit-ready; giving leadership the reliable information they need to make smart calls, stay compliant, and keep operations running smoothly.

It's a great fit if you're early in your accounting career and want hands-on exposure across reporting, AP/AR, month-end close, and audit support, working closely with a Finance Team that values process improvement and fresh ideas.

MISSION:

The Junior Accountant records, organizes, and maintains accurate financial data by collecting and analyzing daily transactions, reconciling accounts, and processing payments, ensuring the company has reliable financial information for informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and operational stability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Recording & Reporting

• Collect, organize, and categorize financial data for accurate, complete records.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.

• Calculate financial figures to support budgeting and forecasting.

• Validate invoices, expense claims, and supporting documentation.

• Audit internal records and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process supplier invoices and schedule payments per company policy.

• Confirm receipt of goods/services and resolve missing or incorrect info with internal stakeholders.

• Generate customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.

• Maintain organized transactional records for a clean, traceable audit trail.

• Reconcile bank statements, AP, and AR to ensure ledger accuracy.

Month-End & Compliance Support

• Support month-end close by assembling data and reviewing account balances.

• Support year-end audits with documentation and responses to auditor inquiries.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and financial regulations.

• Standardize and organize documentation for a high-quality audit trail.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

• Identify process inefficiencies and suggest practical improvements.

• Support the Finance Team in adopting new tools and workflows.

• Communicate with internal teams to resolve financial queries and payment/expense issues.

• Assist with ad-hoc financial tasks and projects.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Fluency in English required; Maltese is a plus.

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial record keeping.

• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial systems.

• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines (daily, weekly, monthly).

• Clear communicator who can work well across teams, not just within Finance.

• A proactive mindset - someone who notices what could work better and isn't afraid to suggest it.
